Girl's Day Out

Today was a heavy heart day. A day of tough memories and one I've been dreading for some time. My solution was to plan a "girl's day out" with my gal pal Treena...she makes my heart happy and I knew she would do well at the challenge of keeping my spirits up.

We had hoped for a warm sunny day, but our hopes were replaced with a cold, wintry day. We started the day downtown, visiting all the boutiques and shops we, as Treena put it, "normally wouldn't know existed". Our pocketbooks aren't deep enough to frequent such shops, but it sure was fun to look!
This was fun too...you know the old saying,
"Keep your friends close, and your port-o-potties closer!"

We grabbed some lunch at a little hole in the wall and Treena ran into a friend she knows from another part of the state. It was also at this point I learned of a little drah-ma it seems I've started (more on this later). ;)
After filling our tummies, we headed to the east side of town for some more shopping. And lo and behold, wouldn't you know it...it started snowing! And you know how much I love snow...I took it as a gift from the Lord and it made my heart smile. It made Treena shiver.
I ran in to some good friends myself...it was fun seeing you Brooke and meeting your husband, Kyle (finally!!). :) And Jennifer, I always love running in to you and baby Bella...glad she's feeling better!
What better to warm us up and give us nourishment after an afternoon of shopping than our fave dessert at Chili's...Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie!! Ooh, it's so good.

What a fun day with a good friend. I even received an early birthday present from my folks...Happy Birthday to me...Happy Birthday to me...
Okay, so my birthday is six weeks away, but you just gotta get stuff when it's on sale...not when it's convenient! :) I picked this up at HobLob (from my parents)...

I love it, don't you?? I think it will hold two gallons...maybe more. My current bev dispenser holds 5+gallons.

I think they make a nice pair.

Spring is springing!!!

Thursday's beautiful weather and all the budding trees called us outside for an afternoon of enjoying nature. Raegen played and I worked. I pulled out the tubs of Raegen's baby clothes and sorted through them....RheaLana, trash, keep. I've known for some time that I kept WAY too many clothes, but it was just too hard to let them go at the time. Now that my little man is two and there is no baby on the way, I just don't see the point in keeping them. I definitely think it was good therapy for me...although I experienced a mild panic attack at the thought of getting rid of them, it quickly subsided and I made quick work of the work!

What I'm selling...

What I'm keeping...notice some of the clothes are fall/winter and I will be "letting go" of them at the next RL sale.

Raegen had fun being outside...the weather was perfect.

I love that God makes it all green again...

This should make you laugh...I never got around to removing my pumpkin from my fall decorations...a friend suggested I just leave it and we'll see if the seeds take root and produce any pumpkins next year. I forgot it was sitting on top of my daffodils!! :)

Silver Leap Maple buds

Mom..what is this again?! :)

Burning bush

I don't remember what I planted here...tulips, maybe??

Yarrow springing up already...it's a MAJOR hardy plant.

My crepes...hope they'll hold out 'til after our last frost...you know we'll have another!!

And to close...a little mud never hurt a thing. ;)

Idol Watch

I didn't recap Wednesday night's Idol performance because...well, overall I was just so disappointed. The first five or so contestants were just so...so-so...not much to blog about. However, when Allison Iraheta took the stage I felt she had redeemed AI...at least in my eyes. There were a few other good voices, but no one that I just loved.
The guys came over tonight to watch the AI divr. Before we heard the results we stated who we thought would make it through. We all agreed DEFINITELY
Allison Iraheta...

we hoped! Kris Allen...

and this is the part where we differed...

The guys said Norman Gentle and I said Adam Lambert...though I'm still not a fan of his.

I couldn't believe it when they read tonight's winners and it included Kris Allen!! Yippee! I've never voted, (wait, maybe a few seasons ago?? don't remember)...but Colt voted for KA thirty times!! Every vote counts! We're so happy to have a Conway boy in there...I hope he can pick the right song for his next performance. Afterall, we want him to be memorable!!

Here are a few pictures from earlier in the day...today B picked up a few things for me and my craft addiction. While in the craft store he spotted some model planes and bought one for himself. We'll see if this develops into a hobby.

We also went to my fave catfish house tonight and on our way home we stopped and picked up a new pet...meet Lulu...

While we were getting settled to watch AI, Raegen stole Colt away for a tea party...

Somehow we talked B into eating an entire snack bag of sour shockers at once (8 total)...

We thought he would really have some issues, but as it turns out...

it was a piece of cake for him!

That's no fun, especially when just ONE shocker made the rest of us squirm in our seats!

Sleepy pie, need more shut eye...

I walked in Raegen's room to get him up from nap on Tuesday and he didn't move an inch...like any good momma, I ran to get my camera!! It's very rare that I get to watch my little man while he's catching some zzz's.
Believe it or not, I did not pose anything in this picture...this is how I put him down for nap and obviously he fell fast asleep before he had a chance to disturb the covers or animals on the bed.

"Momma...not the camera again..."

"Do you have to use the flash?"

"Okay, time to play!"

"Peek-a-boo, I see you!"

Tuesday evening we met up with the Fason's to attend Colt's game. Here's Raegen with Mrs. Rosemary...

And here he is with BF's sister, Lisa. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that Raegen has started mimicking EVERYTHING. We were standing for the Star Spangled Banner and he noticed everyone had their hand on their chest so he did the same. Yes, this means I temporarily took my hand off my chest to take this picture, but I just couldn't miss this Kodak moment!! :)

Let's play ball!!

Makin' his free throws...way to go Colt!!

We didn't have our heads in the game for the first half, but we turned it around the second half and stole the show! We've got one more game before the state tourney...R-ville, get ready for the Cats to rock your world!!

Sugar and Spice or Snakes and Snails?

Poll has closed. It's a BOY!!!

Take the poll located on the right side of the screen. Will we be having another baby boy or a baby girl? What do you think?

If it's any help, I haven't had any dreams {like I did with Raegen, dreaming I was having a boy} and I just don't have that "feeling" with this baby. I did have severe morning sickness that lasted through week 15, quite unlike my mild morning sickness that ended at week 12 with Raegen. That info may help or confuse you more! I'm anxious to see what everyone else thinks we're having.
