Big Bertha gets a facelift.

My large, wooden picnic table, aptly named "Big Bertha", has recently received a facelift. I obtained Big Bertha in 2004 when my good friend Kate had to move from a house with a yard, into an apartment. It was understood that Big Bertha would be under my custody until Kate could find a permanent home. Somehow I talked Billy and one of his friends, Charlie, into helping me transport it from LR to my residence. Billy stated more than once, "Don't ever ask me to move this thing again because I won't!" You see, Kate named the picnice table "Big Bertha" because it's stinkin' huge and HEAVY!! We're talking solid wood, hand made, no plastic parts...it's a beast! Needless to say, Kate has since moved far, far away... back to her home state and Big Bertha is on permanent-loan. ?? AND, if I might point out, Billy and I have since dated and married AND he has yet again MOVED BIG BERTHA!! :)

But Big Bertha has not aged well. In fact, she suffered a broken leg a year ago and recently my dad came over and fixed it for me. Big Bertha was heavy before, but now she has DOUBLE 2x4's for legs!! And, as you can see from this close up, she was getting pretty flaky. So a few weeks ago I gave her a face lift...

"Orange!!!", you say? Let me explain, a pretty white picnic table might sound nice, but the reality is, in the hot sun it's more like "blindingly" white! I knew I definitely didn't want to paint it white again and thought orange would be a "cool" color for hot summer days and be a "fun" color too. Billy says we won't trip over it in the dark anymore!

Here she is, all finished and lookin' fine...
I'm happy with the end result and look forward to many picnics with Raegen and Billy. One project down...many more to go...don't get me started on that patio! :)

Big Bertha has been through a lot, I remeber sitting around her a few times. She looks great, I would hardly even recognize her.

Sugar and Spice or Snakes and Snails?

Poll has closed. It's a BOY!!!

Take the poll located on the right side of the screen. Will we be having another baby boy or a baby girl? What do you think?

If it's any help, I haven't had any dreams {like I did with Raegen, dreaming I was having a boy} and I just don't have that "feeling" with this baby. I did have severe morning sickness that lasted through week 15, quite unlike my mild morning sickness that ended at week 12 with Raegen. That info may help or confuse you more! I'm anxious to see what everyone else thinks we're having.

Is baby #3 a boy or a girl?
