Ashlyn's Baby Shower

We held Ashlyn Mae's baby shower on Saturday. We had a couples shower planned, complete with grilling burgers and hotdogs, and a jump castle for the kiddos. After a few weeks of NO rain, hydrometeroids began falling from the sky just as our party was set to begin. We quickly gathered up everything and changed locations to the church activity building. The Fason's had worked so hard on setting up tables and tents in their backyard as well as games for the adults and kids (badminton/jump castle/crawl tunnels) that it was disappointing we couldn't host the shower at their house. Thankfully the church is nearby...and spacious!

It was an honor to co-host a shower to honor Marc and Amber. I am excited that Ashlyn is due to arrive in time for the upcoming holidays. :) It is fun to see our family grow each year.
The happy mom and dad-to-be...
Ashlyn received many nice gifts...

Don't reinvent the wheel!! :) Yet another idea I have "borrowed"! :) I am in love with the "memory quilt" idea and want to share it with every mom-to-be I know. This time I mailed green and purple squares that coordinate with Ashlyn's nursery.
Erica, Elijah, Memom, & Mrs. Tomi have a look at all the festive squares.
It's always fun to see how creative people are. It's also fun to find out you're creative!! Mrs.Tomi told me she had worried and worried about what to do and when she finally finished her square she was quite impressed with herself. She said her girlfriends will never believe she did it herself! :)

Mom-to-be Amber looks over everyone's creations with Mrs. Amanda, Angela, and Mrs. Tomi.

Kibbie created this square....we didn't know you had skills!! You've been holding out on us!

It's possible Kibbie inspired Bro. Eddie's SundaySchool lesson...the very next day (Sunday) his key verse in SundaySchool was Hab 2:2!! :)

I will try to list everyone that created each square, though I do have doubts on a few...

Mrs. Gina, Kristie (Amber's sister), not sure-Daddy's..., Mrs. Amanda or Mrs. Katherine??

Sissy (you have skills too!! Love the Dutch doll!), Mrs. Becky, Aunt Cat, Mrs. Tomi

Mrs. Beverly, Aunt Jenn, not sure on bottom two??

Danny-Bridget-Sean , Billy-Robin-Raegen , Mrs. Lois, Mrs. Amanda or Mrs. Katherine??, Mrs. Christi

Angela, Aunt Sue, Grandma Bonnie, Memom

Aunt Nancy, Rucker & Ellen, Ms. Birthel

Mrs. DeaAnn, Bader-Stain Cousins, Kaleb-Erica-Elijah

Daniel-Melissa-Christopher-Jayson, Ms. Inez, Grandma Bonnie

The Fason's, The Goodall's, The Ortega's

Kristie, Amber, & Sissy pose for picture before the real fun begins...

Bro. David and company cooked enough burgers and dogs for 48 people!! I didn't get a count, but I know Auntie Mari prepared 90 hamburgers!

The strawberries were delicious!

Maricela did a wonderful job of making the cake and decorating it too. So many people didn't know she had skills!! She once decorated wedding cakes for fun.

Marc and Amber grab some grub.

They had to store up energy to open all the gifts!

No one went hungry at this shower...there was plenty of food.

The babies enjoyed playing in the jump castle.

Christopher and Ben take time to cheese for the camera.

Raegen and cousin Sean have a heart-to-heart. They enjoyed being with each other this weekend. They will get more play time in a few weeks when Ashlyn arrives.

It's time for some gifts!!

Angela announces to the crowd that we're going to get this party started!

There were lots of nice gifts...adorable dresses, personalized diapers, cutsie stuffed animals, even Amber's most desired gift...a cherry glider with matching ottoman. However, my two fave gifts are pictured below. ;)

This gift is from an unnamed male. It is clear that he did not wrap his own gift. The first thing Amber pulled from the bag was a package of unopened tissue paper!

This gift is also from an unnamed male...it is a "bedazzled" wipe case! Too cute!

With all the gifts opened and the rain gone, Raegen headed outside for some fresh air. He enjoyed playing in the puddles with his Aunt Kristie.

One last picture to end the day....Amber with her four hostesses...Melissa, Maricela, Angela, and myself. We had a great time planning and preparing for Ashlyn's shower. We can hardly wait 'til she's here with us!

Sugar and Spice or Snakes and Snails?

Poll has closed. It's a BOY!!!

Take the poll located on the right side of the screen. Will we be having another baby boy or a baby girl? What do you think?

If it's any help, I haven't had any dreams {like I did with Raegen, dreaming I was having a boy} and I just don't have that "feeling" with this baby. I did have severe morning sickness that lasted through week 15, quite unlike my mild morning sickness that ended at week 12 with Raegen. That info may help or confuse you more! I'm anxious to see what everyone else thinks we're having.

Is baby #3 a boy or a girl?
