Ever the "Idol" fans, Billy and I came home last night after church and started up the DVR (a.k.a the divr) for our fave show of the moment. Mark Mudd was profiled before his audition and explained his great-great-great-great-great-(maybe more, maybe less greats) grandfather was Dr. Mudd. I hadn't a clue what he was talking about, but Billy quickly filled me in. Dr. Mudd set John Wilkes Booth broken leg after he assassinated President Lincoln, hence where the phrase "your name is mud" came from.
Upon Mark Mudd's departure from his audition with Paula, Randy, Simon, and Kara...he said in not these exact words, but basically "good bye and be careful". Did I mention last night's show consisted of auditions from Kentucky? Ya'll, we just say stuff like that. It's just as common as "see you later". No biggie, right? Well apparently Paula and Simon didn't get the memo and proceeded to tell Mudd that "that's a threat!" and "you can't just go around saying that!". I was thinking, "ya'll are idiots!". :) (Though I really do like all the judges). I felt so terrible for that poor man because he obviously meant nothing other than, "take care". Is there really that much of a culture change or were they just being ridiculous?
