It's great to be home and in the usual routine of things again. First on the "to do" list was cooking supper for the new babies and their families. Maricela and I teamed up together and made enchiladas (tuh-may-to, tuh-mah-to....I say onch-iladas, but have been told the correct pronunciation is inch-iladas) and rice. I was particularly excited about making this dish because I love it and wanted to know how to cook it myself!
Loading up the truck...we also made chocolate cake and salad.
Our first stop was Hayden's house...
Momma Angela had just returned from the doctor and was in excellent spirits...though her poor feet looked as they might explode at any moment. She assured me they are tremendously better than they were and she's learned to live with the discomfort...for now.
We tried the "dine and dash" method...as in, we tried to bring them their dinner and dash right out as to not disturb them, but who can resist holding a baby?! Hayden is just precious and was practically begging for attention. :)
Next we headed to Audrey's house and I was once again amazed at how well momma Erica was getting around. Audrey is an absolute doll and favors her momma. She didn't make a peep the entire time we were there.
Big brother Elijah returned from Grandma's today, anxious to see his new sister again. It's so hard to believe these babies are already a week old...how does it go by so fast?!
On a serious note...I am so thankful the Lord has blessed our church family with healthy, happy babies. There are so many families with newborns that haven't made it out of the hospital doors yet. I never thought the blog community would become a source for support and prayers for and from strangers.
If you have time you should check out Angie Smith's blog and others that she has listed on her site. This lady will make you cry and laugh...bring a tissue box. She has a beautiful story to tell and I am glad she can share Jesus through her pain.
One such baby is Harper. She was born in NWA on January 16th and she needs prayer...I found her story on Angie's blog and there are many more, but obviously that story hits close to home. So many babies and families that need prayer.
