Raegen had his two year dental check-up this morning. We LOVE his dentist and dental assistant (or is it hygienist...trying to be pc here)...
They are so gentle, caring, friendly, fun....I can not say enough good things about them.
The waiting room is too fun...huge fish tank...lots of toys and books. Raegen sat at a play area with another boy for a short period of time. Then he moved on to something else...and the boy followed him and said, "Come back."
Raegen said, "No." (while shaking his head)
Boy, "Yes, come back now and play with me."
Raegen, "No!"
Raegen eventually moved on to playing with a girl his age and then returned to the play center with the boy. It seems Raegen sat at the wrong chair because the boy didn't like that and before I knew it we had a good 'ol toddler throwdown. (Okay, so it wasn't that dramatic.) A few pushes, two mommies saying "play nice", and life returned to normal. Then a nurse appeared, called our names, and we realized it was "clean teeth" time!
What a relief! Toddlers that don't play well together make me nervous...I'm not one for situations I can't control. There are too many what ifs.
There is a T.V. in the ceiling of the exam room...it's easier to watch if you're laying down, but Raegen wasn't up for any of that today. Which was fine...they just did the exam with him sitting up...no pressure.
When I pulled in the drive after we returned, I said, "Oh, no." I knew we made it to the car with our sippy cup, but when I got Raegen out at the dentist's office I couldn't find it...because it was in the driveway and I had driven over it!
Is it common for fish to sit at the bottom of their tank and not move...and when they do it looks as if they're seizing??

What a fun dentist!
Poor sippy cup and poor Lulu! I don't know much about fish and am constantly amazed that "Blue" our Beta is still swimming. We forgot to get anyone to feed him while we were gone this weekend AND we turned the heat WAY down to conserve energy since we weren't here. Poor guy was sitting on the bottom and moving kind of weird, too. But, today he is his old self! We have had him nearly a year which is a personal record for us. :~)
IF! we ever get another fish...it will be a betta! :) Everything I've read (AFTER we purchased Lulu) says betta's are a great beginner fish...very low maintenance. Perfect.
