Teething Tantrums

To survive THIS:

We are using THIS:
THIS:

and earplugs!!!
{not really, but I'm tempted}

The teething process really is whoopin' poor Lynden. His "sleeping THROUGH the night"'s are over and I usually get up around midnight and 4a.m. to soothe him back to sleep.
Poor babe.

Looking back...

I thought it would be fun to pull a picture out from July 2007

Raegen was just a baby {do you think Lynden resembles him at all?}

and he and I were staying far away from daddy

because....

HE HAD SCARLET FEVER!

I would share a picture, but I don't think you would like it.

Breaking News

It had been speculated...
now it is confirmed...
WE HAVE OUR TWO FRONT TEETH!!

See...

I've been running my fingers across his gums the past few weeks because he's been showing all the signs of teething and finally today, cousin Madisyn discovered Lynden's first two teeth.
They've already broken through!!

Now I know my A, B, C's, next time won't you sing with me...

I was beyond THRILLED today when I heard Raegen say,
"Look mom, I spelled my name.
R-A-E-G-E-N"

He was pretty proud too!

And to think just yesterday I was feeding that "mommy guilt" that comes around every once in awhile...terrified I had handicapped him and he wasn't learning as much as other children his age. Oh, how I despise that "mommy guilt"...

Jack and Jill...

Long story short,
Raegen fell and bumped his head,
five stitches later he has a great story to tell all his friends.
Do I have pictures?
Yes, I do!
But you don't want to see them.
How about some "before stitches" pics?

Saturday my folks brought the cousins over and we had a great time at the Model Railroad Exhibit in town.

It's thanks to Kibs and Baby J that we even knew there was such an event! And we're so glad we didn't miss it.

There was a center set up with Thomas the Train trains, that the kids could operate.

All the boys got to be conductors...
Uncle Billy kept an eye on everyone's speed...the rule was no faster than 70MPH.
And you wonder why Ty is laughing.

Raegen and Ty even raced their trains...

We fed the hungry mob and then...

we went to the park!!

It was a LOT hot.

But it was a lot of fun too.
Griffin enjoyed bein the captain of the ship...

and Lynden enjoyed just being there.

We hit up Happy Hour at Sonic on our way home.
of course.

Blonde hair, blue eyed beau

Mr. J recently came for a visit.
And I have to say,
his
eyes
ARE
captivating.
He is, indeed, a pretty boy.
His favorite spot to be was at the back door looking out the window...

But he also did a lot of this,...

but mostly this!

I'm not use to having a crawler so he was really cracking me up.
He followed me
everywhere.
If I opened the fridge door, he was already sitting in it before it was completely open!
hilarious.

Lynden enjoyed the company too...I think he missed Raegen while he was gone last week.

Where's that funny boy that's always in my face??

It was fun watching Mr. J while his momma was at church. We get to keep him next month too...Raegen will love it!
and so will my camera

Balls, boots, and bugs

Recently we took our pre-teens and teens from church to a baseball game. It was a bit rainy that evening, but that didn't spoil our fun. We just pulled out our umbrellas...

and our rain boots!
{that's the tip of mine in the pic below! I got them last year and LURVE them!}
We sat on the berm and the kids just sprawled out.
They had plenty of room to run around and it was perfect.
Know what else was perfect?
These BBQ nachos!!!
I didn't even have time to snap a picture before B took a bite!
They were de-lish!

The kids probably all had stomaches that night
because they ate from every available vendor...
hot dogs,
popcorn,
sno-cones,
cotton candy,
frozen lemonade,
pretzels,
and so on...
At one point all attention was diverted from food and all eyes were on this little BIG guy.
It was my second time to leave Lynden {with a sitter}, but he did great. He's been getting plenty of mommy-time this week though. Raegen is with his Great-Aunt Bea & Great-Aunt Betty. I'm sure he's meeting family members I didn't even know existed!! We've talked to them a few times this week and it's hard to tell who's having more fun!

Lynden Rucker - Four Months

Lynden Rucker,
you are now FOUR months old.

You are quite the talker. You babble and squeal constantly. Your squeals are similar to the sound fireworks make as they zoom into the sky. Cute, but not necessarily pleasant to the ears!
You are very aware of your hands now and love to grab things on your play mat. Of course you always want to put them in your mouth. You also have started making "raspberries" and it's adorable. You even make them while you're eating sometimes. It's as if you think, "oh yeah, I haven't done this in a while" and then you start! Oh, you're a mess.

You are still consistently gaining weight {eating five times a day}
and growing out of your clothes {most are 9 or 12 month}!

At four months, you are
18 pounds,
25.5" long,
and have a head circumference of 43.5cm.

Your eyes appear to be darkening a bit to more of a grayish color. I'm still not sure about your hair! There's not enough of it to get a definitive answer.

You have an infectious laugh and I do believe you're a bit ticklish at your neck/chest area like your Grandaddy Richardson!! I can get you going sometimes and you act like you just can't take anymore, enough already!! But then you give a look that says "more, MORE!"...you're loving every minute of it!

You still have a sweet temperment and are easily soothed.
HOWEVER,
you have recently learned to roll from your belly to your back and when it happens at 4a.m.
IT
MAKES
YOU
MAD!!!
Sunday morning you awoke on your back at 3:58a.m. and you were one very UNhappy little camper. Surprisingly Raegen didn't stir. I'm quite impressed with how well he's adapted to having you in the room.
Again, Tuesday morning at 4a.m. you awoke and I had to feed you to get you calm enough to fall back asleep. It has happened a few times during the day during your naps, but it isn't an issue then...just when you're in your long night stretch of sleep.

You love to have something in your mouth at all times...
pacifier,
blanket,
hands,
you name it!

We are now regulars at Mother Goose story time at the library. Before I know it you'll be picking Humpty off the floor yourself and returning him to the wall, so I'm trying to remember to slow down and just enjoy my boys. I finally got your announcements mailed out. Yes, just before you turned four months...better late than never.
Raegen thinks you are wonderful and loves to try to make you giggle. He's so sweet with you. He loves to talk about the things you will do together when you get "big".
When others at church or elsewhere ask him,
"Can I take your brother home with me?"
They get a big fat, "No!"
followed by, "Can I go home with you?"
He affectionately calls you "my Lynden".
Love it.

Sugar and Spice or Snakes and Snails?

Poll has closed. It's a BOY!!!

Take the poll located on the right side of the screen. Will we be having another baby boy or a baby girl? What do you think?

If it's any help, I haven't had any dreams {like I did with Raegen, dreaming I was having a boy} and I just don't have that "feeling" with this baby. I did have severe morning sickness that lasted through week 15, quite unlike my mild morning sickness that ended at week 12 with Raegen. That info may help or confuse you more! I'm anxious to see what everyone else thinks we're having.

Is baby #3 a boy or a girl?
